CDUTCM-KEELE Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute participates in the 2023 Forum on Student Employment and Further Education in Sino-Foreign Cooperative Institutions
On 28th November, the 2023 Forum on Student Employment and Further Study in Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Institutions was held in Chengdu. The forum was organized by SWJTU-Leeds Joint School and attended by representatives of 31 universities' Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Institutions and programs from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Northeastern University, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Henan University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Li Yan, Deputy Secretary of the College, attended the meeting on behalf of CDUTCM-KEELE Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute.
President of SWJTU-Leeds Joint School, Jin Zhongmin, in his speech, expressed his warm welcome to the delegates attending this forum. He expressed that this forum focuses on discussing the employment and further study of students in Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions, which provides reference and experience for the employment and further study of universities, and hoped that through this forum, we can jointly promote the development of Sino-foreign cooperative education, cultivate more students with an international perspective, and tell the "China Story" in the world.
Afterwards, the three chair units of the western region of the Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions shared the situation and practice of students' employment and further studies in turn.
Di Aiying, Secretary of the Party Committee of Glasgow College, UESTC, made a keynote report entitled "3C Programme: Exploration and Practice of Glasgow College's Student Support System", which introduced Glasgow College, UESTC's advanced educational philosophy, inspirational and research-based teaching mode, meticulous cultivation of students' ability to think innovatively, international outlook, international competitiveness, and sense of social responsibility, as well as a series of reflections on students' employment and further study and practice.
Dai Fuping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Queen Mary University of London Engineering School, NPU, presented ‘Selecting Seedlings and Nurturing Talents, Cultivating Roots and Casting Souls - Introduction to Talent Cultivation Work of Queen Mary University of London Engineering School, NPU’ as the title, which demonstrated the practice of the School in cultivating students with an international horizon, knowledge of international rules, well-grounded, strong professional competitiveness, high comprehensive quality, and the ability of transnational learning, working and lifelong learning.
Jiang Jiuwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of SWJTU-Leeds Joint School, shared with the conference the practice, exploration and achievements of Leeds College in the field of students' employment and further studies under the title of "Constructing a student-centred training and support system based on the ‘TAFSS’ system".
Hou Gang, Vice President of gecacademy of Advanced Studies, also shared a report on the employment competitiveness of international talents to the forum.
On the afternoon of November 28th, the participating leaders and teachers discussed the sub-forum on the theme of student employment and further study. This forum is the third thematic forum on employment and further study of students in Sino-foreign cooperative education, in which the participants learnt from each other through sharing successful experiences and the problems and challenges encountered in practical work, to jointly promote the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative education.
