On 19th October, Zheng Chuan, Vice President of Chengdu University of CDUTCM, accompanied by Pauline Walsh, Vice Chancellor of Keele University, Clare Corness-Parr, Principal Associate Dean of CDUTCM-KEELE joint health and medical sciences institute, Chen Yuan, Dean of the CDUTCM-KEELE joint health and medical sciences institute, Li Yan, Deputy Secretary of the CDUTCM-KEELE joint health and medical sciences institute, and other relevant leaders and project managers, visited the Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Zhou Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu, and related leaders had a pleasant conversation with the visiting team.

At the meeting, Professor Zheng Chuan thanked Keele University for its strong support for CDUTCM-KEELE Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute and hoped that through this communication and visit to Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital, which is affiliated with CDUTCM, would give a comprehensive understanding of CDUTCM's undergraduate medical education, rehabilitation medical treatment and health management system. It will enhance the communication between the two universities, with the expectation of opening the cooperation between the two sides in healthcare and research as soon as possible.

Professor Pauline Walsh highly affirmed Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital at the meeting. She hoped that through more interactions and visits between the two sides, a closer and friendly co-operation could be initiated in the areas of rehabilitation medical treatment and health management.

The President of Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital, Mr Zhou Zheng, expressed his warm welcome to all the leaders and project managers from Keele University and CDUTCM,  he hoped that the two universities would strengthen their communications and co-operation in the future in the areas of hospital management, discipline construction, medical education and application of scientific research, thus to achieve the integration of cultures, the development of the same, and the interoperability of resources, and to promote the high-quality and high-efficiency development of the Fifth People's Hospital of CDUTCM-KEELE Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute.

After the meeting, the visiting team went to Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital for field research in the Training Centre, Health Management Physical Examination Centre and Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
