Listening to Students, Supporting Their Growth – Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute Holds 2023-2024 Fall Semester Student Forum for Health Services and Management Program (Sino-Foreign Joint Program)

To further strengthen the connection between the institute’s leadership, faculty, and students, and to better understand students' thoughts and learning experiences, as well as gather feedback on teaching, management, and services, the Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute held a student forum for the Health Services and Management program (Sino-Foreign Joint Program) on the morning of November 17. The forum aimed to enhance the effectiveness of student management and education. The meeting took place in the first-floor conference room and was attended by Dean Chen Yuan, Deputy Secretary Li Yan, Deputy Dean Chen Yunhui, Party Branch Secretary Li Chunhui, counselor Jiang Yichen, and ten student representatives.

Class monitors and study group leaders from Classes 1 and 2 of the 2023 cohort in the Health Services and Management program gathered to discuss various topics, including class construction, course learning, student activities, campus life services, and dormitory culture. The students positively endorsed the school and institute’s efforts and shared their views based on their class and group experiences, covering aspects such as professional studies, language skill improvement, extracurricular activities, and living conditions. The atmosphere was relaxed, congenial, and lively.

The participating teachers attentively listened and took detailed notes on the issues and concerns raised by the students regarding their studies and daily lives. During the forum, students expressed their commitment to actively participate in various social practice activities, join club organizations, and volunteer, aiming to enhance their comprehensive qualities and social responsibility.

Institute leaders and teachers addressed the questions posed by the students during the meeting and planned to organize and categorize the feedback after the forum. They reiterated the institute's student-centered philosophy and committed to solving the practical issues faced by students.

 

The student forum, held every semester, provides a platform for communication and interaction between the institute and its students. It fosters mutual understanding between faculty and students and strengthens emotional connections, significantly promoting the continuous development and improvement of the institute’s various endeavors.
