Recently, professors specializing in Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy and public health management fields from Keele University in the UK engaged in an in-depth face-to-face exchange with students. The atmosphere at the symposium was vibrant, with students expressing their thoughts on academic expectations, professional understanding, and career plans. Keele University, in turn, addressed students' queries regarding specialized courses, course guidance, faculty, and opportunities for further education abroad. Let's delve into the enlightening conversations that took place:

Q1: What internationally aligned courses are included in our curriculum?

From the perspective of public health management , our curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including teamwork, learning skills, mental health, and healthcare. Health management is not only crucial for society but also offers a promising career path. Our curriculum encompasses various aspects, such as promoting healthcare, enhancing mental and physical well-being, distinguishing healthcare services, using health concepts to treat diseases, and maintaining overall health.

Q2: With medical technology advancing rapidly, are we on the brink of a new revolution in health services and management?

Yes, I'm very excited to answer your question, and I'd like to address it in two parts:

Firstly, our healthcare services are becoming global, with widespread reach in Africa, Europe, and the Americas. It's only when we collaborate that we can collectively progress. So, establishing a solid foundation of connection is essential for mutual development, leading to the globalization of healthcare.

Secondly, I believe we are in a period of significant transformation and growth. Healthcare is rapidly advancing, and technology is evolving at a breathtaking pace. However, we are also facing challenges, such as global warming and the emergence of new diseases, which pose substantial challenges to healthcare. Nevertheless, we are continually progressing and redefining the scope of health management through technological innovations.

Q3: Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy has many specialized disciplines; could you elaborate on this?

In the UK, Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy offers a broad spectrum of applications. Rehabilitation is not limited to patients but extends to children, adults, and the elderly. It is not only patients who require rehabilitation but also athletes, race car drivers, and those in physically demanding professions. There is a growing demand for both physical and mental rehabilitation, making this field highly promising.

Q4: Are there any differences between the specialized courses in rehabilitation therapy in China and those at Keele University's main campus?

The core courses in rehabilitation therapy are taught by professors from Keele University, and the course content is identical to what our UK-based peers study. The curriculum covers but is not limited to: the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, force generation and points of application, organ function, various positions and movements in rehabilitation, and rehabilitation guidance. The courses are intensive and challenging, so be prepared.

Q5: What are the pathways to pursue further studies?

In China, you can pursue postgraduate studies through the national graduate entrance examination. If you wish to study abroad, as an example, at Keele University, we offer one-year master's programs for your consideration. We have the relevant academic advisors who assess your capabilities and consider your four-year undergraduate GPA to guide you in pursuing a master's degree.

Q6: Can we access Keele University's academic resources platform in China?

Certainly, our information department is establishing a bridge for students at CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute to access Keele University's academic database and providing you with accounts. You can access Keele University's database online, where you can access courses and literature.

Q7: Will we have opportunities for study exchanges in the UK in the future?

Yes, we are actively promoting the implementation of research and study exchange programs. We believe that during your learning journey, you will not only have the chance for cultural exchange between China and the UK but also visit and study at Keele University.
